Schools and Universities
Raising Awareness with University and School Students
Students will learn about the realities faced by homeless people and people in situations of social exclusion so they can make short films about the lives of homeless people that will be entered in a competition in the 7th edition of the Bilbao Homeless Film Festival.
Through raising awareness in schools and universities we intend to raise awareness and promote positive attitudes about marginalised people, people with mental health issues or drug addiction problems as a means to fight social exclusion, without stigmas, in order to achieve a more inclusive society.
We use the World Ganchito methodology as an active and participatory technique in schools and universities to bring them into contact with people in situations of social exclusion. Those realities will be brought to students who can give them form through their own gaze in the short films they have to make in the Homeless Film Festival programme.
The general goal is to:
Fomentar el conocimiento y el debate en la sociedad sobre la realidad de las personas que viven en situación de exclusión social a través del cine, siendo los protagonistas las propias personas en exclusión social, mostrando así sus competencias y eliminando los prejuicios existentes sobre estos colectivos.
