Homeless Film Festival brings to the foreground through culture (cinema and theater) the reality of people in situations of social exclusion. This festival began in 2011 in Manchester (United Kingdom) and since 2016, Bizitegi has organized this festival in Bilbao, constituting cultural days of great interest to citizens about inclusion through the performing arts. In 2023 Bizitegi will celebrate the 8th edition of Homeless Film Festival in Bilbao.
The Festival promotes the recording and production of short films and the creation and performance of plays with people in situations of exclusion, in order to empower them and give voice to the different realities in which they find themselves. The Festival combines the screening of short films and the performance of plays about homelessness and social exclusion.
