CÁNDIDA “When the Writer and Her Character Become Roommates”
Young writer Klara Balzes has just written her first novel, Kandida, the story of a homeless woman. Kandida is a fictional character, but she is based on a real person. Klara met that real woman, Manuela, through an organization that supports people facing eviction. In the novel, Klara takes Kandida into her home. In real life, however, Klara lost touch with Manuela forever. On the day the novel is published, Manuela unexpectedly arrives at Klara’s home and asks the young writer to do in real life what she did in her novel: take her in.

Synopsis:
Usman is a young undocumented immigrant who, like so many others, left his family, friends, and country behind in search of a better life in Europe. However, what he discovered upon arriving here is that the only thing Europe has for him is a precarious life.
His fragile economic situation forces him to live in a heated apartment, from which he's about to be evicted, and to work practically all day as a food delivery driver. But even that doesn't work out for him, as he's fallen prey to a mafia network of fake delivery worker profiles.
A series of events will cause the delicate balance that sustains him to turn upside down in just 24 hours, forcing Usman to make a drastic decision in order to survive. And Usman will discover that Europe not only has nothing for him, but even has the ability to take away the little he truly possesses.
